Acry Gel - Hybrid UV Nail Technology
From Milan to Paris to New York, AcryGel is gracing every catwalk!
Offering you the ultimate in Strength, Durability, Clarity, Flexibility. Acry Gel UV Gel, when combined with Acry Gel
strengthening powder, creates one of the strongest cross linked polymer resins available today.
The interaction of the two weaves a strong but loose, flexible web of cross linked polymers over the nail adding
strength without causing brittleness, resulting in a flexible comfortable nail. Acrylic Tips
The original nail extension system, an advanced
nail enhancement providing unparalleled strength with some flexibility. Plastic
tips are applied over your own nail, then cut to size and blended in before
having a layer of Acrylic placed over them. Available in both natural or bright
white, Acrylic Tip and overlay continues to be the most popular choice with
Nail Technicians and their clients worldwide. Silk & Fibreglass
These extensions are pieces of silk or fibreglass that have been cut to a
desired shape and glued over the natural nail or over the natural nail and
artificial tip extension. The fabric is then coated with more glue (to build up
strength) or with a "resin". Resin is a thick version of glue and
because resin is thick it takes a very long time to dry. It needs something to
accelerate the drying time so an accelerator is used (also called an
activator). This comes in the form of a liquid that is sprayed as a fine mist
over the resin coated nails. Silk is the most natural-looking, fibreglass looks
clear as opposed to the pale pink of Silk. These nail extensions are not
designed for those with an active lifestyle, so not the right choice for
everyone. Which One Is For Me?
There are two types of customers looking for nail extensions, the ones
that know what they want and the first timers. Customers who know what they
want due to circumstances and lifestyle mean that there is only a certain type
for them. An example would be a hairdresser who would no doubt find Silk too
fragile.1) Acry Gel Tips - The very latest in UV technology - Its superior formula is designed
to give perfect results time after time. The incredible workable Gel is less damaging to the nail and is
extremely versatile and durable.
Pro - Strength of Acrylic and with the clarity of Gel, safe and odour free unlike traditional Acrylics.
2) Acrylic Tips - Using a plastic nail tip. Acrylic is the number one choice in the UK although it accounts for only one in ten with
the rest of Europe.
Pro - Strong and long lasting.
Con - Harsh on your own nails and less
give if you bash them. Acrylic system has a sometimes unpleasant odour.
3) Silk- The thinnest of all and some say the most
natural looking although they are not ideally suited to those with a busy lifestyle.
No primer is required when having Silk extensions, when a primer is used, as it
is with other methods, it is designed to "pit" the natural nail. This
allows the liquid form of acrylic to ooze into the holes, so that when it dries
and solidifies, it has a better adherence; thus allowing the acrylic to stay on
the nail. This leaves the natural nail weak, technically speaking, anything
that is applied to the natural nail causes "damage". If one were to
rate the degree of damage with this process, on a scale of 1 to 5 (one, being
nail polish) the Silk process would be a two.
Pro - Kindest system for your nails.
Con - Not suited for busy lifestyles but
good for special occasions.
